Weekend Projects

Ernie Miller Topeka

>Been awhile hasn't it? Well I am back from vacation and am going to get some serious shop time. I hope to tsart glueing up the bar this weekend. I also hope to get 4-5 drawers for the bench finished. I have been working on this thing off and on for 3 years now and it is time to finish it. Besides I have all these nice handles that need instaled. I also hope to spend some time on the tread mill for the jig saw. I'm cheating a little hear as I found an old one sitting out in some ones trash last week and think it can be modified easier than the old INTERNATIONAL one I have for large dogs THis one can be about 2/3rds smaller for my dog and half as wide.and the mat will be better than wood slats. Any way I hope to spend some quality time with the tools and dog. EVERY ONE HAVE A SAFE & ROCKIN GOOD WEEKEND!!!!

I've been busy lately...

Sandor in Boyds, MD

>I've been preoccupied for the last few weeks taking care of our new daughter Emma Grace.

She was born 6-24-04 weighed 6 lb 9 oz and was 21" long.

This is our first child, and I haven't had any time to myself to get down to the shop. I have not a single complaint though!

Sandor (wondering where I'll put her workbench in a few years...)

Small Boat Show

Greg Btit, Vergennes, VT

>Saturday I'll be finishing the saddling and legging up a braced continuous arm chair, but Sunday I signed up as a volunteer for the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum's Small Boat Show. In past years they've had some really nice wooden boats, canoes, kayaks, paddles, etc. on display and for sale. I just love it.

Congrads to both dad and mom. Very nice work there.

Can I place an order for one or two just like it?

>She is beautiful.

And how clever you and your other half must be to make such a jewel out of things you had around the house.

I'm jealous.

>I missed this feature. It kind of marks the beginning of the weekend.Without it the days just keep goin on like there weren't no weekend.

I started a little side table for LOML out of a piece of sugar maple with tap holes and brown streaks from the taps. We got the wood at wood days in NH. I have to cut more mortises to fit the skirts, add a lower shelf and cut out a drawer hole. This has been a fun project.

Have a great weekend ---Jack

>Great Work! Our little Grace just turned 1 last week. Look foward to a lot less shop time in the future. But every second of shop time lost is worth it!

Yes, the pool/landscaping project for SWMBO is in its fourth month. I am having woodworking withdrawal! I can't even sneak into the shop - the power is still out. (Mr. Wild-man with a Bobcat tore up the lines)
