tip to tip it measures 18 1/2 " has split nuts and a nib.....but the handle is pretty plain.has 10 marked at the base.
Any info on manufacturer etc.

>I think Excelsior Saws were one of the many Cheap Saws made by Disston and sold under another name then Disston because they didn't want to be associated with them I guess. I think these cheaper saws kept using split nuts longer then better quality name brand saws......While i could be wrong and is hard to see for certain from your photo looks like to me the blade has been cut back and maybe the handle is not original[though is the stlye you see on these type saws] to the blade....just speculating now......Todd

>Alister... it looks like the saw has a nib so my guess is that if the saw is 'bobbed" it was done from the handle end. Could be shortened and rehandled but it sure looks like a handy size for a toolbox. JR

I've never run into a nibbed saw this size.....not that I've been looking for one ......just struck me as a curious size and style.
