That said, beeswax is sticky and may attract dirt and saw dust. A better choice is probably graphite. You can buy it in powdered form at an autoparts place, or you can just rub the screw with a pencil.

All the graphite is going to do is reduce friction. If your screws run free, it may be best to put nothing on them.

>I haven't used it on wooden screws, but Johnson paste wax does wonders on my sticky wooden bench drawers. I'd sure give it a try on the screws. Apply liberally and rub in, and wipe off the excess.

>Don`t know about you Adam,but graphite and I don`t get along.Powdered graphite is like roofing tar when it comes to me touching it.I get it all over everything and end up with it up to my elbows,generally making me sorry I ever considered it in the first place.I finally just gave my plastic bottle of the stuff to someone I didn`t care much for.

Also,if I could find a way to do without Neversieze I`d be a much happier man.The effects are same,same.

I have no illusions of owning a roof that will not leak in my lifetime,so my wife will just have to hang on to that bag of feathers,I`m sure the day will come when they`ll come in handy.:^)
