Repairing a 46
Mick Foley
>Hey all -
Well, my 46 arrived and it was as advertised, but the fence casting was broken in transit - ugghh. Before I go down the "fill out forms and wait forever to get a refund from the Post Office" route, I have a couple of questions:
1. Is there a decent, reliable way to fix a casting like this? This is a user plane, not a collector, so originality is not an issue, but durability is.
2. Does anyone out there have an extra fence/incomplete 46 (later type 10-12, nickel plated) that you would be willing to part with for a reasonable amount? (If so, please drop me a line at mick@snork.com)
It's somewhat of a bummer to wait for something, find that it was complete as advertised, but that the USPS dropped on the way...
Thanks,
Mick
