lindenwood good for projects?

>We had a big storm come throught this weekend and the boss lost a large lindenwood tree. is this thing worth having sawn up into wood for a future project? I need to know quick as he wants it out of his yard.

>Ernie, Linden is sold commercially as basswood. Mill it to 16/4 and slice it up into blocks. Plenty of practice wood to learn carving on. Evidently, you can also go into the venetian blind business as they are also made of basswood.
uses for basswood

>it is a preferred woood for carving so it is always in demand by the carvers. This is its highest value application.
It dries easily and quickly with little checking or warping. In your climate 4/4 could be dry by fall.
It stains exceptionally well. We sold mountians of it to go with birch plywood cabinets when they were popular. Also machines very well.
It is a bit softer than poplar, but can be used where ever poplar or white pine might be used. Often used in drawer sides.
It molds readily, so get it on dry stick pronto after sawing.
