I agree with you entirely - everything went downhill with the black album, when James decided he was actually a singer. All bad, baby. I think And Justice... was the pinnacle of their evolution, though Ride the Lightning and Master are what I listen to most. The whole sequence from "Disposable Heroes" to "Damage, Inc." is perfect for hand tool working. For me, anyway.

I'd given up on Temallica by the time they released Garage, Inc., though any album with a cover of "Sabbra Cadabra" has got to be good on some level...
