Let's re-write this to fit us
Todd O. Cronkhite Native of Maine
>Several months ago at a fossil club meeting I came across an old little wooden sign that had the below inscription painted on it that I thought that we as a collective could have a little fun with and re-write to fit us to post in our shops.
WARNING
ROCK POX
Very contagious to both sexes
Symtoms: Victim complains of need for fresh air, sunshine, and travel. Patient has blank expression often, often inattentive to the rest of the family. Has no desire for work other than rock digging. Takes frequent trips to lapidiary and mineral shops, long hours spent in the study of catologs, dealers lists, rock locations, has secret telephone conversations with rock pals. Mumbles to self. Lies to rivial collectors.
ONLY ONE CURE
Treatment: the disease is not fatal: however medication is useless. Patient should go on frequent rock hunting trips to beach, mountains, etc, etc.
The author of this is unknown to me, but I thought it would be fun to re-write to fit we tool junkies and have it in hung in our shops across the World.
I think it would be easy enough to do, just thought that I'd give the group a look at it, get some input and ideas and see what we can come up with. Whatcha' think?
