>Just rec'd. this today and put it to work right away scraping the top to a blanket chest. Right out of the box it produced great curlies. I've messed with it enough now to really appreciate it. The ability to put some camber in the blade is great; it completely eliminates all edge gooving.
My #4 smoother puts a better finish on hard maple than the scraper does but the scraper removes tearout and tames knarly knots very well. My hat's off to the folks at LV for a great, reasonably priced tool ;>)!!
