Quality Planes
Mickey
>I'm looking for quality hand planes. I understand that the Lie-Nielsen, Veritas, and Clifton planes are of good quality, but they seem to be somewhat expensive to me. I live in the Houston, TX area and there doesn't seem to be a good source of older Stanleys around here. I'm not real comfortable purchasing a used/vintage plane from eBay, so that's probably not an option.
Does anyone have experience/opinions on the Anant hand planes? What other options are out there for someone who doesn't have a great deal of money to spend but would like to do more woodworking with hand tools?
Thanks for any information you all can provide.
