>With the purchase of two high angle blades for my low angle smoother I have my first multi purpose functional plane.

I reground the micro bevel on one blade to give me about a 60 degree angle and just polished the other one. Today, while getting a bookcase ready for glue up, I got some the thinest shavings I've ever gotten from a plane. Even with the slightly higher effort needed to push the 60 degree blade it was a shear joy to see the results.

Rob Lee, I had my reservations when I first got the low angle smoother. I had trouble getting use to the combined depth and angle adjuster. Now after using it for a while, it has become one of my favorite planes. My wife thinks I'm crazy. She thinks the plane is too pretty to use and I should display it on a shelf somewhere in the shop.
