Boring flat bottomed holes in bronze for plane...
Jonathan Kaplan (OR)
>Hi,
Im about to start work on an odd-styled plane (of a sort I recall from a series of posts back in the days of the pond). It's basically a Krenov style sandwich, but the outsides are of bronze rather than wood, and the throat adjustable by moving the captured piece of wood in the front. One thing Id like to do is recess the bolts holding it together into the bronze, but I cant figure out what tool to use to bore relatively nice, relatively clean, flat bottomed holes in bronze... The holes should be about 1/2" wide and perhaps 1/4 - 3/8" deep.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks!
