Epiphany vis a vis Swmbo

>I've been fighting it for quite a while and I don't know why. LOML has been bugging me to show her how to use some of my tools so she could make some decorative boxes and such. Why was I being so dang hard-headed, LOL. The more I get her interested in woodworking, the more tools I can justify buying...Doh!!!
My wife isn't really interested in using hand tools and wants to learn how to use portable power tools. So tonight, we started with the basics, making a box with rabbeted back. I sawed the boards with my WW2 vintage D8. Then I showed her how to use my router to rabbet out the edges for the back. Then I showed how to glue and screw the top, sides and bottom together.
Tomorrow evening we will work on the door. She wants to make a small wall cabinet with a tin or copper punch door.
Except for having to work outside where it was so muggy, it was actually kind of fun. So, tell me again how dumb I've been, LOL.
