Selling old tools on ebay: worth it?

>Over the years I've picked up quite a few bargain (and not so bargain) tools (the last few years quite a few off ebay). But this bad habit has come to be like eating without sh**ting: I'm bloating. One solution might be to balance a tool buying rate with a tool selling rate. Ebay selling seems a possible mechanism for selling. I don't need to make a living off this but I do want to see it as something like a very conservative investment in which I'd expect over the long haul to make the T-bill rate (a couple percent).
I've looked at the complex fee schedule for ebay and at the paypal fees. I presume many of you sell on ebay. How do you think about these fees? What's you're advice about how feasible ebay selling is for the over-tooled, non-dealer addict in partial recovery.
