>Among other things....cleaning up a stopped dado/groove. You can take the top off so the cutter can go all the way to the end of the dado/groove.

It allows the same "over the top" hand position as the much drooled "low knob", but with superior ergonomics (IMHO).

>Yes, it's a heavy plane with a lot of weight up front. I had the chance to try it with both a more conventional knob and the mushroom knob and much prefered the latter. I found it more comfortable in the hand during use, and to offer a much better grip during (as Rob puts it) "air time."
