>Hi:
You have a couple of options:
1) Tools of the Trade - held in Pickering spring and fall, usually advertised in the Ottawa Lee Valley store.
2) Shepherd Tools in Cambridge - New planes, kits, some antiques.
Unfortunately, I have never been to either, so hopefully someone with more experience will chime in.
Cheers

>Rob,
The Tools of the Trade is the big show. I believe the next one is October 5, or there abouts. Check your local tool haunts as it gets closer to the date and you can find a posting for it.
If it's not too far you could check out the Maclachlan Museum outside of Kingston. They have a sessions on plane making in the summer. Look 'em up on the web for the info.
Finally check out the Tool Group of Canada. Not online but you can check out the URL below. There is a contact name for more information. I haven't joined as I believe all of their meetings are in the Toronto area.
From what I have heard it sounds like it is a pretty good group.
Hope this helps!

>Hi Rob,
Lots of good advice in the previous posts.
The Tools of the Trade show is a great place to find handtools but the prices will take your breath away if you're just starting out (or are a true bottom feeder like me).
Get out of town (assuming you're in Tarrana), and visit antique/flea markets. Aberfoyle antique market has a couple tool dealers and Circle M flea at Clappisons corners usually has a few tools. Go early bring cash.
If you don't want to leave town, stop by the St Lawrence Antique Market on any Sunday. I was there two weeks ago and bought a 607 Bedrock jointer for 25 bucks. Go early bring cash.
I lived in Toronto about ten years ago and used to find lots of tools at yard sales in the High park/Parkdale area. Wander around on a Saturday morning...GEBC.
Good luck, and don't forget to post gloats when you find something...Rob
