>I recently finished (it will never be truly finished, but I started putting my tools in it...) a standing tool cabinet. Most of my ideas came from Ted Owens'cabinet, and Bob Key's hanging cabinet. I used hand tools for all the construction except for the panel grooves. I don't have a combination or plow plane yet, so I had to use a r**ter. I finished it with shellac and wax. You can see that I have left plenty of room for future tool acquisitions.
>If you have the picture on your hard drive and can get it down to 40K, you can post it directly using the optional graphic upload. If you can't get it down, e-mail it to me and I will see what I can do.
>Visitors to my shop often gravitate to the cabinet first and have lots of questions. Perhaps yours will help bring more into the woodworkers fold, too.
>I can't tell you how long I studied yours!!! Eventually I am going to build a small chest of drawers to go into the base. I'll probably wait until I have something to actually put in them.
Thanks for the inspiration -- Woodcentral has really helped me move up from my beginning stages.
Now my wife might actually let me build something that will go in the house!!!!
>I can't tell from the photo, Andy, whether your base has stringers. Mine does, and I'm guessing yours does, too. I just set a couple things underneath and a couple on the stringers. Utilizes the space with no need for a small cabinet in the base.
