Scribe keeps falling out of Starrett square...

>Does anyone know anything i can do to keep that thing in there? It will barely stay in by itself, but the slightest tap will put it on the floor. Does anyone have any idea on how to make the hole smaller or the scribe bigger? I tried tape but it made the scribe too thick. Thanks

>Try a small punch everso lightly to dimple the base and make it slightly oval. Haven't done this but just a thought.

I had one like that, purchased new. I returned it to Starrett and they fixed it (don't know what they did).
