Weekend Projects

Ernie Miller Topeka

>What a Week lets not have another one of these! What was it the full moon or the first week of spring. At any rate we all need to spend some serious time with our tools this weekend and realize why we stop here for a visit. I havent heard any thing about Bubba Bob so we should keep him in out thought until we hear he is doing well. Now on to the good stuff I will be working on the island bar for my wife. I hope to finalize the design on the guitar stand as I would like a new set of chisels. The yard needs mowed and there is Family time on Sunday. Every one play safe and Have A Rockin Good Weekend!!!

Busy weekend for me

Dave Anderson Chester,NH

>I took today off to obey SWMBO and clean for the arrival of Doug and Ben from Shepherd Tool who are my houseguests for the next two nites. I went into work since my boss called and told me the tool chest my uncle shipped me from Idaho had arrived. I stocked the fridge with beer so my Canadjian guests will feel at home. I opened the tool box but don't have time now to really check out the contents. Suffice to say that it contains handsaws from Disston, Atkins, Wilkerson, and Bishop along with some shaves, drawknives, gouges, chisels etc. The etches on all the saws are pristine any theres no rust on them. as for the other tools, they're gonna need some work.

Tomorrow I'm building a Shepherd chariot plane at the class/demo the Shepherd boys are doing for our guild.

Sunday is yard work, turning marking knife handles and going through the tool chest with a fine toothed comb.

>Paul has it right it's Doug and Ben it's not like they are real company you have beer and you have a shop that is all they need.

Remember

Dan Clermont in Burnaby

>Ben and Doug are Canadian which means you need to have lots of American Beer to match up with the 5% alcohol content found in their usual beer. SO you better have lots on hand.

I am amazed...

Steve Kubien

>that you'd let them in your country never mind your home! Does SWMBO'd have any clue what she has gotten herself into?

Seriously though, I am sure Ben and Doug will make wonderful house guests. The fridge is stocked and that is what really matters.

Besides, I hear that Ben is house-broken! Doug on the other hand.....

More slicing and dicing

Todd O. Cronkhite Native of Maine

>Need to finish sawing my found logs into 5" or so thick dices and than busting them up with the froe. I use these pieces to make little bandsaw boxes. I haven't made one of these boxes since '98 when I had to fold my shop and go to Japan. Allot of work for a small box, but I enjoy it.

first thing in the morning I'm gona drive the few miles from here to see if that large piece of tree is still there that I want to use for my anvil stump. If it is that'll be two more cuts I'll have to make, and we're talking about 24" or so diameter stuff. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO the calluoses are coming back on my hands. Hate to go home all soft-handed, heck fire they'd laugh me out of the State, or accuse me of being from Massachussetts or something. :~(
