Cabinet scraper sharpening

>I seem to remember some posts on sharpening Stanley #80 cabinet scraper blades. In those posts, some people mentioned not putting a bur on the blade. Is it necessary to put a bur on these blades if you only want to use them for fine scraping? Or can you just use them scary sharpened to a 45 degree angle?

>Davy, I would use a burr...without it you are truely "scraping" the wood. With it, you are actually planing the wood. Just don't roll the edge as much for a finer shaving. See the post below for Bob's article on scrapers or just search the archives here, tho some are missing.
