Scratch Stock for dadoes?
Davy Barr
>Fellow expert Galoots,
What would prevent a home-made scratch stock from being plenty good enough for cleaning up the bottoms of dadoes and grooves? I just can't seem to get a price to fit my budget on those Stanley 71's and am wondering about alternatives. Just using a chisel doesn't get the bottoms of my hand-sawn dadoes level enough without tons of finesse work. Of course, I don't own a crank-necked chisel so that may make a difference too. Suggestions?
