>Hey Brad, try pushing on the iron, towards its seat on the right side, as you are tightening the bolt in question. On my 45 if you loosen that bolt far enough to easily slip the iron in by hand, it also has a gap between the right side of the iron and the seat (linebar? edge?). Keep pressure on the iron as you tighten and it pulls itself right over.

Both the Tapered Head and the bolt itself seem to be too large to allow clearance for the cutters to fit beneath them properly.

I double checked with some 55 blades I have and I didn't see any possible way they could fit.

I am going to a Tool show this weekend and will be looking out for other 45's to see how much clearance they have and how large the cutter bolts are.

I think I will be looking for another bolt or modifying the one I have.

Thanks for the advice though!

>The bolt is round except for a flattened face. Because of the angles involved, once the flat face is against the cutter, turning the wingnut forces the bolt to pinch the blade into place. Sometimes you have to loosen the wingnut and tap it slightly (with a soft piece of wood!) to make the bolt protrude and provide enough wiggle room to insert the cutter. Good luck.
