I met an Ellis Islander today ... *LINK*

Angus Barclay, in New Zealand

>This internet thingie has really shrunk the world. Despite living thousands of miles from 99.9% of the fine folk at Wood Central, today I met occassional Wood Central poster Kevin F.

I bought a badger plane from him, as a result of this thread and briefly chatted about wood and tools until we had to get back to work.

Thanks for the plane, Kevin. I'll be sharpening and testing it tonight.

cheers

>Yes, I've been struck at how many connections between people these electrons can assist. Nice that you had the pleasure of meeting him AND the pleasure of buying that badger plane. Now, if you can just figure out how to clamp the badger to the bench properly...

Badger in quarantine

Angus Barclay, in New Zealand

>Hello Bill,

the badger is currently quarantined (with a few of its woodie relatives for company) on top of my tool cabinet. It will be released in to its more natural habitat on top of my bench in a few more days - once it has become acclimatised to the new shop environment.
