Metalhead board?

>On my old computer, I had a machinist's version of this forum saved as a favorite; alas, we were never able to transfer everything to this computer. Can anyone refer me to a machinist's forum as friendly as this forum? I need to ask for sources for square-thread and acme-thread nuts.

>Actually, the proper sound effect is probably "beep beep," were it not for the fact that that already has a meaning in our community.

I'm actually looking for true square-thread nuts, rather than Acme - very hard to find so far, since they're an obsolete pattern (which does not explain why there are so many of them in the world).

By the way - OT

>Your reference to cartoons reminds me to recommend an essay: "Coyote vs. Acme," by Ian Frazier, available in the book of the same title (the other essays, while entertaining, are not as good as the title essay, which is hysterically perfectly funny for anyone who ever has the pleasure of dealing with the law or for any fans of the Road Runner cartoons). I won't ruin it by describing it - hie yourself down to your local library and see if they carry the book. In my experience, even attorneys appreciate it, because it's really very gentle under a rather savage surface.
