Particular Hinge--Found it!

John in West TN

>Persistance pays, I finally located the particular writing slope hinge found in many late 18th and 19th century writing slopes. The raised barrel of the hinge is also consistent with the majority of writing slope photos I've been able to locate. With this find, I've now located all the necessary hardware specific to the late 18th century Georgian example I plan to make (e.g., writing slope lock, hinges, brass corners and staps, and escutheon plate).

My next task will be to figure out construction details and then draw plans. The support of folks on this list has been invaluable--thank you!

Cheers,

John
