>I picked one of these up some time ago and am getting ready to try & use it. Does anyone have any comments as to how to sharpen/use one of these?.

It seems to me that the two edges of the blade can be sharpened at two different angles, is that correct? Then, by flipping the shave you could alternate between rough/fine cuts? Or perhaps both edges were sharpened identically and when one dulled you loosen the screws, close the opposite mouth up and continue working?? TIA;>)!!

The best thing I have seen about sharpening one is on John Gunterman's website, shavings.net. The key point is the make sure there is some clearance between the blade and the wood during use. I had to regrind the outside bevel on my blade so it would work properly. I used some SIC paper on a dowel to polish the inside (concave) bevel. It didn't work at all until I gave it the clearance under the blade.

I've never heard of anyone sharpening both edges of one of these blades. Novel idea!
