Resawing wide boards

>I just finished cutting 2- 2x18x30" boards into3/4" panels.Quite a job!I ripped slots in the long sides on the table saw to act as guides and to reduce the width of the cut. This left about 15" to rip.I have a 5 1/2 tooth Disston rip saw which is sharp.I had a problem with the cut getting off line as I got to the last third of the cut.Fortunately the boards were thick enough to keep 3/4" thickness on all panels(barely)I have resawn boards up to 8-9" with very little difficulty, but this was a different ballgame.I am hoping someone might have a technique or trick that might make this job easier.
