>I just finished making the bottom for my cradle. It is three walnut boards joined with T&G joints created with Stanley #48 and finished off with #93. I have a shop floor full of those pretty #48 curls. I am getting lots of satisfaction out of this project. It is for my youngest daughter who is due in Sept. Most of the handplaning has been done using my own custom blades. This weekend's task is a sliding dovetail. Wish I had a #444.

I seem to remember that ECE makes a fenced plane that cuts the "tail" part of a sliding dovetail. If I'm not hallucinating--again--I'm pretty sure that Highland Hardware has them, Woodcraft too, and probably more that my feeble mind cannot remember.
I have one ECE plane, their scrub plane, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's very well made, works, and is about half the price of a Lie-Nielsen scrub.
