dense pack brace rack

>Someone was askin' recently about my brace rack. I think Jim mentioned it. I borrowed the toy digicam from The Kidz and took a really crummy pic, made even worse by compressing it to fit the 20K limit for upload. Oh well, as Roy U. says "you get the idea"...

A bunch of half inch holes bored in some scrap pine, some bits of dowel glued in, and I can hold 11 braces in a 24 inch wide space. And all the braces are immediately available, no rummaging around.

Thanks for the idea Darryl....

>My braces are currently draped over the firewood rack in my bench room pineing for a home. I needed some idea so they wouldn't take up too much space on the tool wall. Be warned,I'm gonna rip off this idea.

>With the handles sticking out like that if you bump into them do they all come tumbling down? Thinking I to may barrow that idea and place it under my plane rack where the bottom of it sticks out from the wall about 12" to keep from hitting them.

>What are those little black-handled butt chisels on the right of that pic? I don't think I've seen the like (from what I can tell in that pic - isn't the photo file size limit 40K, not 20K?).

>Clay,

Jim's right, those are LV chisels. I won them in LV's big Anniversary Draw last year. They're nice, and I don't mind bashin' on them with a hammer what with those plastic handles... SWMBO don't much appreciate me hitting her Blue Chips with hammers, and a lot of my old chisles are socket types which just do not like to stay put under the wicked himidity swings we get round here. But I digress...

40K would not help the pix from the toy camera anyways
