#1 bench plane *LINK*

>When I first saw this little plane I thought, Now here is a Stanley #1 plane I will be able to afford. The bidding was arounnd a hundred bucks for three days or so, and I thought well for a hundred bucks I'll buy it just to give my wife a better idea of what I'm looking for at all these garage sales. Then it went to 200, and I thought well maybe if I cleaned it up real good and filled in the crack in the side with epoxy it would be a neat display, perhaps I could camoflage that little crack in the side of the body. Well, at the close of the auction I realized just how desperate some of these guys are to have a stanley #1 plane. $466 for a frog, iron and cap, and front knob; sheesh!
