Closet Organizer Drawer's

>I am in the process of making LOML's Closet Organixer and am getting ready to make the drawer supports.
I was planning on basically making a shelf which fit onto a sliding dovetail. I would glue the sliding dovetail on the front of the carcass and let it float on the back. I thought that is I did it this way we would be able to use the drawer supports as shelves rather then commiting to a divider and a dust panel.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
