Tool Cabinet questions

After seeing the latest tool cabinet pics,thanks Brian C.(btw,very nice,insipring work). I am commencing/planning something similar. I like the thought of paint grade ply. My question is how heavy will the doors get and is plywood strong enough on edge to hold the screws from the piano hinge? I've thought about t&g a strip of hardwood to both edges which then the doors are hung by a glue joint(?). Anyways am I thinking too much or how have others faced the same dilemas?
