It would help with sawing dovetails--but only on the pin board. Because the tail cuts are angled, they are longer than the straight up and down cuts on the pin board. It seems to me that it would be a PITA trying to get it just right to saw the tails.

>I've used a depth stop with a crosscut backsaw to do breadboard tenons (MacGyver's stair saw); all it takes is a pair of small aluminum c-clamps and a scrap of wood. If the depth stop is what is needed, this works just fine. If I was looking for a dozuki, I would look someplace other than Rockler; $50 gets you pretty close to some nice saws at JW or any number of other places that carry Japanese tools as a main part of their product line.

>Have you ever tried using that bishop? the handle is wat to small for most hands and the wears on your hand at the palm of the little finger. and to top it off it is hard to find a Bishop new.
