Microsoft exe. ???

Somebody explain to me this Microsoft exe. thing. When I try to open some links I get this thing that pops up and ask if I want to open it in its current location, or save to as disk. If I select open it here, another box comes up and says something like "Can't find this, Microsoft exe C// blah, blah, blah. If I select Save to a Disk, it goes to a disk alright, but it won't open.

This is driving me absolutely bananas, would you all please educate me on this matter please. I'd really hate to thrash this 'puter, but somethings gotta' give and QUICK. :~|

>Thanks Dan,

I took a quick look at this site the other day, and it looks like it'll be helpful. I haven't been on the computer since I looked over this site until now, so I haven't done anything with the information. hopefully I'll get to it tomorrow. Thanks again.
