>Maybe a bit late in the day but have you heard of Auriou - French woodcarving tools maybe not available over there. Overcoming my natural resistance to anything French I have to say they are the nearest thing available to old English tools by Addis or Herring. As a profesional carver I find them superbly made but a bit pricey and the handles might not suit everyone - they seem to increase in size with the tools even though your hands stay the same. Best wishes from the U.K. Henry

>Yes, we even have a great vendor in New York, Joel; but they aren't on his site yet. They are very expensive. I'm in the process of trying to decide which two or three will be most handy. Maybe you'd be willing to help in this endeavor?

Welcome to the hand tool forum, there are lots of carvers hanging about.
