Back home here...

Matthew J D'Avella, Kona HI

>Aloha All!

I haven't posted in quite a while, but I've been keeping up on my reading and following of the posts here, and I now understand why WC is my home page, this place is home.

I frequent other sites and forums about other topics, but none is like being here. EVERY post is informative and positive here. Negative responses are kept to a minimum here. The advice and the help is always friendly. The pictures that are posted here are always posted and responded to with excitement, and I think that is outstanding.

We (I would like to include myself with the rest of you if that is OK) are all passionate about our shops, tools, projects, whatever. Disputes are handled with decorum and respect, with the ability to agree to disagree.

Questions are asked and answered without fear of ridicule. I have been unable to find that elsewhere on the net, at least to the level and standard that is maintained here.

Many of you I have known for years now. we share more than just woodworking here at WC and the days gone by on The Pond, we are a family. The kind of family that always welcomes you back home. And I got to tell ya, it's good to be home.

Thank you Ellis (and Wayne from BP) for creating a place where Neanderthals are still welcome.

I agree - although there are other fora that I visit when I need some information (and I try to be fair and offer some when I do), I always come back here for the company AND the content.

>Some new work receintly completed...I'll post a few pics later this week. Been getting into tapered bent laminations, very cool. I'll post a few pics of a sofa table with the design story.

My wife, Kendra, and I are doing great! Thanks for asking. We spend a lot of time out on the water shooting video and stills of aquatic behaviors. Ernie, did I send you the tiger shark pic? I thought I had you on that list. Perhaps I can post that pic here under the heading of "what I do on my day off".

Thanks for the welcome back.

>I got the tiger shark. It's funny that you get in the way when Kendra is trying to get some work done. My favorite is the big Ray
