Good source for wood

Roy

>Hi, all:

I've been buying wood from Rockler, Woodcraft and Paxton, all of which have stores here in town (Cincinnati). I wonder if any one has any reflections on their price/quality or any other recommended sources in the Midwest.

It depends on what you are looking for. Finished or rough, but in either case WoodFinder is probably the answer. I have been using Jim Stadler in Mantua Ohio for about a year. Bought about 1200 bd ft so far and it has been the right price and great quality. And WoodFinder is a sponser of this site.

Give it a try

Their lumber is rough cut, kiln dried for the most part. I paid $2.25 for quarter sawn white oak a couple years ago.

Oh, I was on my way to Mark Adams Woodworking school and picked it up along the way to Indy from GA.
