>Nice work. I can tell that it's the design by Lance Patterson from the North Bennet Street School in Boston as articled in the FWW "On Making Period Furniture" booklet. I can tell it by seeing that the bottom is made from one thick piece thus avoiding the molding. One aspect that I don't see from those period pieces is the straight lines in the inner surfaces of the sides and only about an in. in the front they should take the bulge profile. The problem that is involved is to fit the drawers' sides snuggly to the inside of the sides with minimum of friction. My choice in this case would be to provide guides to the drawers at the centers and thus make them go in out smoothly. Why not do it and deviate from the sources while do the thick bottom which is already a deviation? Being heavy even without any content those drawers are sure clumsy to operate. Just some thoughts.
