Hock blades at Woodworker's Supply

John Meikrantz

>Just wanted to let you all know that Woodworker's Supply is closing out Hock replacement blades. They have a few left at pretty decent savings. Also have a bunch of the Hock handplane kits for $59.99.

No affiliation, just a satisfied customer. They went out of their way to find a Hock block plane blade that turned out to be in one of their local store's inventory. Great customer service!

And, what a difference a new blade makes to a late model Stanley block plane!

Blade Measurements?

Don Thompson, Cutler Ridge, South of Miami FL

>My adjustable-mouth, LA Stanley block plane has a blade that is 35mm wide, and has a 15mm slot.

The listing for the Hock blades includes one that is 1-3/8" wide (very close to 35mm), with a 5/8" slot. My 15mm slot is more like 19/32".

Is this a match for my 35mm/15mm blade, i.e. is the description in the listing inaccurate? Anybody use one of these in the English Stanley plane?

>Hi Jim,

I bought a couple of CLifton 2 piece cap irons from them when they closed them out a few months back. I didn't have any problems at all.
