brass backed saw flex

>I have a small English made tenon/dovetail handsaw that has a "quirk" in the blade. I attempted to peen out a small curvature in one area of the teeth. Now the saw flexes from side to side in this area when in use or when pushed upon with your finger. What is the proper corrective action for this condition?

It still works reasonably well.

Cheers,

Ed

>I have found in most cases where a back saw has this problim if you take the back off and clean it out and put the blade back in it will be taken care of.Somtimes you can just drive the blade up further into the back a bit and it will fix it too so probably should try that first...Todd
