Weekend projects

>Its a long weekend for me and Im all fired up after a good morning of rust hunting. I am going to fallow a Japanese tradition and celebrate my tools this weekend. I learned this from Pam on the quiet side. I will clean and sharpen my tools burn some sandal wood incense drink a toast and have a feast for all that they have brought me last year and as a sign of respect for the future year. Then I am going to spend some more quality time working on some storage for them I have been making great progress on the tool boxes under the bench and hope to get them to the point where I am making drawers. During the glue ups I plan on hanging some shelves on the last untouched shop wall. I need some serious storage space. EVERY ONE HAVE A ROCKIN GOOD WEEKEND!!!!! Ernie

>It looks like I will get some good shop time this weekend. My first priority is to build a resaw fence for my bandsaw. When I have done that I will either start jointing (hand) and resawing (power) boards for a bookcase, or do more spindle turning on my new lathe, an activity that is threatening currently to eclipse all others. BTW I've been doing some research and I believe this lathe is nearly 120 years old and was manufactured as a treadle lathe, converted to power somewhat more recently. Here is the catalog entry for the treadle lathe:

>Not a long weekend here in Canada... so I'll have to make the most of the two days given to me!

Going to finish putting up some crown molding. Only one room in our house didn't have moldings. A great opportunity to practice my spackling, I mean err.. woodworking skills.

I have some rough Cherry that I am going to slowly be planing as well. Hopefully I will make a significant dent in it by the end of the month so I can actually start cutting and joining.

Have a great one!

Brad

>My weekend project is complicated for me, simple for others.....My goal was to set up a new computer and it's done!!!!!! Obviously I got the internet working and everything else seems ok. I am NOT techno-weenie by any means so I'm pretty happy. 2.6Ghz, 256MbRAM and I'm a happy boy!

See ya,
