>All I can say is do it. It is not the same plane afterwards. I have the Hock chip breaker on my #4 and the plane just does not handle the same. It doesn't chatter it just takes the shaving and doesn't complain. I may be rehashing common knowledge here but if you have been thinking about it just give it a shot.
