Hey, Pam--two more Tasai
dovetail chisels (Shinogi Oire) arrived yesterday from Harrelson. The 6mm (1/4") perfectly fit the sockets of dovetails for 18 drawers I'm doing. Quicker work of cleaning those tight sockets than the 3mm I had been using. What a wonderful tool the dovetail chisel is, particularly for...well...dovetails. I almost feel guilty hitting the Tasai's with a hammer, though.
Also got a 36mm Very Thin Push Chisel (Hiramachi-Usu). No hammers here, as you know. I have been very pleased in recent weeks with the 18mm for getting into narrow spots. Harrelson says they're not catching on, yet, but I think they will. You tried one, yet?
