This just in ..... my wife wants to know if anyone out there has any plans for building a "jack loom". She wants an "8 harness" (what ever that is!), but a 4 would work. Thanks!

There are a bunch of them (loom plans, that is) out there on the web (mostly not free, :-( ). I haven't built a jack loom, but I've been working my way through a bunch of other fiber-technology related projects including an Indian-Head Spinner built using an old treadle sewing machine bottom, a number of hand spindles, a niddy-noddy, a Navajo Loom, a sample loom, and other stuff. SWMBO is a spinner, weaver and knitter, and making stuff to support her habit is a good way to guarantee shop time :-). I'd be very interested to hear about what you come up with for a loom, as that's something I always wanted to make. If you're anywhere near NE NJ, my wife has a guild that your wife might be interested in.
