Buck saw

I know - this is an easy one! Anyone ever built a buck saw? I was just wondering what wood you used and what blade. Oh - and a drawing would be nice!

Re: Buck saw

I did. I didn't make any drawing, but the design was simple enough. I split the two end pieces and the stretcher from a piece of ash log. Shaping was done on a shaving horse with drawknife and spokeshaves, and the mortises and tenons were done by hand. The blade was bought new from Home Depot. Tensioning is accomplished using twisted line - I used dacron fishing line, but waxed linen would be cooler. I used a basic bow saw design, just winging it. Works great.
