Bow Saw detensioning
Just curious how others handle bow saws and the detensioning issue. I have the German Putsch bow saw from Woodcraft. It has the wire and eye bolt arrangement for tension instead of the cord and stick method. Do you detension your wire/eye bolt bow saws after use?
To make tensioning quicker and easier I've thought of welding some longer wings onto the wingnut. Just have to get my brother to do it.

I use the string and stick kind, but its the same principle. Leaving it strung for a half a day or so is fine, but I would never leave it tightened longer. You dont want to start bending the wood, especially since the wire has no give to it.

at least ECE and Ulmia always advised the users of their bow-saws to detension it after use. I stick to it. Don't underestimate the powers that would work continually on the frame.
