It's hard to imagine a day without Neanderthal Haven. Sort of turns things upside down for me. I know I checked in, on the average, 2-4 times daily--occasionally posting, usually lurking and always learning. My hand planes, handsaws, Japanese chisels, stones, as well as BS, air purifier, and (in a couple weeks) dust collector--all these purchases were based on Ponders' experience and commentary. For your sharing I thank you.

I thank Wayne, too. I wish you the very best in your new pursuits and in all you and Petra do.

Fortunately Ellis has warmly welcomed the vast sea of Ponders to WC and seems genuinely committed to once again putting all right with the world. I know all of you join me in expressing our gratitude for this forum.

Already I recognize many names on the general "Messages" messageboard. And I look forward being part of a continuing neanderthal community.

and thanks for committing to helping Ellis out. I hope all of you newcomers will consider filling out a 'User Profile' so we can know a little about who we are talking to now...so many new 'faces!' This is going to be great; I only wish Stephen Shepherd had been alerted to these changes, because he originally wanted a 'handtools' messageboard, and now wasn't here to see it instituted!
