Milwaukee battery/tool question.

My son has a number of 18 volt Milwaukee tools. He wants a circular saw. They make a 6 1/2" and 7 1/4" version in 18 volt. Does anyone know what effect of their "Fuel" version has on battery/charger/tool Interchangeability? If he buys the saw can he use the older existing batteries? If he gets fuel batteries can he use them in his older tools?

The short answer is yes. As long as the battery connection points (and voltage, of course) match up, I'm pretty sure he'll be fine. I have "Fuel" and non-fuel versions of Milwaukee batteries, and they work interchangeably for me.

I sent them an e-mail inquiry, but as you know there is what they say and what really happens. I suspect some of the people that work there don't actually use the tools, at least when not at work and in the real world.
