Horror of all horrors

Joe in a Cleveland suburb

My WoodCentral hat died. I've had it for many years.

My wife put it in the washing machine and it didn't make it.

My absolute favorite hat.

This picture of me and Ellis was taken at the famous WC World Headquarters in Allentown I think in the early 2000's while I was there on business.

Sorry Ellis. I feel like I let the flag touch the ground or something. :)

I just ordered a new one.

I have been there. The tumbling abrades the edge of the visor as you can see. Run your dirty hat through the dishwasher and air dry.

We've got you covered

Khaki might be out of stock at the moment, but we'll get your order filled as soon as possible. My assistant Charlotte will be in touch regarding other colors that might be available right now. Otherwise it'll take a couple weeks.

Thanks for the reminder of your visit. Leaving that shop was one of the most painful episodes of my life.

Thanks Joe,

Ellis

This year I am going to get you a sightings photo - I've thought of it every summer and never made the time to do it. This year it's looking like it will have to wait until October as the schedule at work is changing due to the ongoing shutdowns. Don't want to spoil the surprise, but I think you're going to like it if what I have in mind works :D

People buy "distressed jeans" for big money. I'd say your hat just tripled in value.

Clean a Shop Hat???

jessecloud

New idea to me... I think they look better and certainly more authentic when they develop a nice coat of dust and grime.

Yes, this reminds me of what I don't miss about baseball .. all the spitting of tobacco juice and the tarry helmets.

My favorite hats too! And tee shirts. (Are new tee shirts still available?)

One of mine that I use in the shop actually looks worse than that. I have run it through the washer many times and it's still comfortable. I did have to glue the fabric back onto the brim though.

I do have another nice 1 for "going out".

Bring it on

Ellis Walentine

I've been really remiss lately in posting new sightings. In fact, I'm pretty sure I have a few in my inbox that should have gone up months ago. What I need is some young editorial blood around here. Anyhow, when you send it, pester me until I post it.

Thanks,

Ellis

T-shirts and hats

Ellis Walentine

We haven't been promoting items in the WC store in recent years. I've always felt vaguely guilty about self promotion -- or ad sales for that matter -- even though, as a result, we've been running on vapors here for quite a while. It's gotten even more complicated by the fact that I'm living in Florida these days, and my assistant Charlotte and all the remaining inventory are in Pennsylvania. And... Charlotte has to arrange for all the ordering and pickup of hats and shirts from our embroiderer in Allentown, PA, which is unnerving and time-consuming these days.

So, the short answer is that we're low on a lot of sizes and colors, but we'll always accept orders. We might offer you alternative colors if the one you want isn't in stock, but our supply chain is still more-or-less intact. JKJ, I'm sure that the pocket Ts that you prefer are not in stock; they were always special orders, like Dave Peebles' (RIP) red hat fifteen years ago -- a true one of a kind.

But I digress.

Cheers,

Ellis

Maybe Joe was going to a formal affair, and wanted his WC hat to look good with his tux.

If you're dointa special order on pocket tees, I'm in. Maybe a little extra volume will help?

Sure, the more the merrier

Ellis Walentine

I will have to check on color availability. Do you have a preference? I'll post a new thread on this and see if anyone else is interested.

Red, green, blue. Manly colors. Not pastels. 😆
