Shaker /Arts & Crafts Hall Table

The Idea of mixing Shaker with Arts & Crafts just seems wrong in my head. I could not come up with a pure design I liked better than this mix, what do you think?
The legs were reclaimed from 120 year old barn rafters that were likely grown and sawn on this property so you can see some staining and plugged nail holes. The joints are a dowel and 2 pocket screws.

Atta boy. Or person of talent! Really like that the wood comes from your property!! Those opportunities are sadly not as readily available for a lot of us. Take advantage of it when you can do so. I’m a little envious.

That has to be the nicest piece of furniture I have seen.
Someone in your house has great taste, the floor tile/table/plant/picture combination is exquisite, even the wall color is perfect.

All the wood is red oak.
The 4 quarter boards were purchased from a local supplier and I fitted them to the tables and sanded to 220. Then I raised the grain with RO water let it dry and resanded twice. Next I stained a Minwax water based wood stain “river stone” was the color but I wanted to be blacker so mixed the stain with black latex wall paint. The top cote is General finish’s oil urethane satin.

The first post only showed one table. I did make 2 the second table goes in the next room and is 2 inches narrower.
