Have you considered Dubuque Universal Aluminum Bar Clamps and / or Wooden Handscrews? Made in USA. (They may make others too, these are the models I know of off the top of my head.)

I've used the aluminum bar clamps and can vouch for their strength and quality. (Better than the old Jorgensen's.) TFWW and LV stock them. (So did The Best Things, but they've closed down, or are in the process of doing so.)

I have a dozen Dubuque Bar Clamps I got on Bill Tindall's Recommendation. They are light, strong and reliable. They are my go-to clamps and I am considering getting more, perhaps longer ones. And I got them for Epstein's as recommended by Mark. (They offered shipping boxes with art and I opted for it. Don't know why. Clamps were a little slow shipping and I called them. Turns out I was waiting for the artist to decorate the boxes. Canceled the art.)

Anybody heard from Bill?

I'm suspect they don't make them here is USA. On checking the company out they say they have 3 full time employees and 1 part timer.

Don"t see how they could make much locally in Iowa with that few people.

I do know that stuff made oversea's and brought back here in bulk can be packaged here and by that action claim "Make in USA".

This loophole could have been plugged now but I doubt it!

I have occasionally bought molding planes there, always had a good selection, good photos and descriptions, reasonable pricing in my novice user's opinion, and all around a good resource to have. Looks like he'll still be selling antique tools in retirement, so maybe all is not lost.

Two stair cases. Spiral Culver Mansion restoration project. I will need mostly f frame heavy duty and also want some I bars for the shop. I like the Adjustable Clamp Co clamps, but closing a factory in my home state, selling off the tooling, sending it to China, and making the clamps in China.....ugh! I would love to be able to buy American made

I like using vacuum bagging with epoxy for that kind of work. It’s much cheaper and provides a ton per sq ft of perfectly even pressure, with plenty of open time.

I have had zero success with demonstrably Asian clamps. Going back to the 80s. I don't trust that anything made in the US or Europe was actually made there. I would pick the best product for your purpose and drive on. Most of my bar clamps were Jorgensen, and now I would get Besey.

I'm Canadian, which is not to say that I don't like buying American. But it is a high bar to be a producer without handicapping oneself by sourcing stuff from where it may no longer be made to the highest standard. I want to make good stuff, and mostly that means buying American, It would be impossible to survice buying Canadian only. My role is to make the best things I can make. Just me.

I want to support my country and my fellow American workers! I want the jobs and the profits for my country. I want to employee Americans. China has proved they can not be trusted and I do not want to support them in any way if I can help it!
